Pie is a Thanksgiving holiday must-have in our family. My childhood Thanksgiving memories involve food, and lots of it. I remember the wonderful dinners with our family, everyone cooked and baking delicious pies and apple crisps. My aunt was our Martha Stewart in the kitchen, she owned the 'pie crown', hands down.
As I now take on these traditions for our family, I focused on creating healthier versions of these recipes. This recipe here is the standard crust we use for our pumpkin pie but you can use it with any pie you like.
I will add a recipe for the complete pie but right here is just the delicious pie crust.
The pecan and hemp seeds make a great crust, they bump up the protein and give the crust a delicious crispy texture. The addition of the coconut sugar and cinnamon gives the pie crust a sweet taste but it is not overbearing, it still allows the filling and toppings to take that on. For a vegan alternative, swap the butter for vegan butter. - Hope you enjoy this delicious crust as much as we do!

Bobbielee
