Six years ago, I moved to the USA from Canada. Still, every year, I celebrate Canada day on July 1st. We celebrate by eating poutine, the official food of the Canadians (originating in the province of Quebec).
Imagine... fries, with melted cheese curd and gravy on top, it is so delicious. Absolutely delicious!
As a lover of this amazing dish, I was determined to make my own health(ier) recipe. We oven bake our fries (typically deep fried) and prepare our own vegan and gluten free friendly gravy.
Poutine can be enjoyed alone or as a side. If you are like me (I need some extra crunch) go ahead and add some extra diced tomatoes, chives and green onions. -- If you haven't yet, be sure to give this delicious dish a try, it is something the whole family will love!
XO,
Bobbielee
