I love warm beverages. Whether it be coffee (my main squeeze), tea, matcha, anything... it warms my soul (and hands, Minnesota winters are cold).

Matcha has more caffeine and more potent properties than traditional green tea as it contains the entire leaf that is dried out and blended into a powder.

Studies shows that matcha contains small amounts of vitamins and minerals, and is rich in antioxidants - a soothing and nutritional beverage.

Feel free to swap out your preferred milk of choice and choice of sweetener.

Happy ZEN'ing!

XO,

Bobbielee

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 tbsp matcha powder
  • 2 cups milk of choice
  • 3 tbsp hot water
  • sweeten with honey or maple syrup (I prefer maple syrup)

Directions

In a small bowl, add the matcha, hot water and maple syrup (optional) - whisk with either a standard whisk or traditional bamboo whisk, until the powder is completely dissolved.

Now heat your milk of choice. We heat ours in a metal pitcher and the steam wand on our espresso machine but feel free to use a saucepan on the stove. If using the stove top, whisk the milk well to get a froth.

Add the matcha and the milk to your favorite mugs, sip and zen!
