Fall is coming and you know what that means? Apple season!! What's your favorite thing to make with fresh and crisp, farm fresh apples? One of mine is this delicious apple crisp.
Last year we drove to an amazing Minnesota Farm and picked our own apples, it was so much fun. If you haven't yet, I highly suggest picking your own for the experience and taste.
We ate all things apple (donuts, crisp, cider, etc.), then headed out to the fields to pick and fill our bags. Fun was had by all!
My preference (of apples) to use for the Apple Crisp are a tart Granny Smith and a sweet Honey Crisp.

Bobbielee
Apples:
Crumble Topping
Prepare an 8x8 inch baking pan with butter or coconut oil, set aside.
Set the oven to 350° and prepare all the ingredients while it warms up.
Peel and core the apples, slice them into thin slices (or equal sized cubes, if you wish).
In a medium size bowl, toss the apples, maple syrup, butter, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Pour the apple mixture into the 9x9 inch baking dish.
In a medium size bowl add all the ingredients, mix together with your hands until it is combined and crumbly.
Pour the crumble on the apple mixture in the 9x9 inch pan.
Place the apple crisp into the oven and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
Remove the baking dish from the oven, allow it to cool for about 10 mins.
Serve with ice cream or a whipped cream.
Enjoy
